Designing for people (but prizes are nice!)

This week, Wispr Flow was named a finalist in Fast Company’s Innovation by Design Awards, as a Finalist in the "Best AI Design" category, alongside the likes of Canva and Google.

We’re grateful for the recognition – but not so we can put a frame on the wall. We design for the student drafting their thesis by whispering into their laptop at midnight. For the lawyer voice-noting case notes between hearings. For the parent juggling hands while getting thoughts to their agency before 8am. For the developer riffing out loud into their terminal. For anyone who’s ever felt boxed in by a blinking cursor.

This award means something to us because it affirms the bet we made when we launched Flow: that voice deserves to be a first-class input method—and that people deserve better than clunky dictation tools that haven’t changed in a decade.

Flow was built to feel natural. To refine tone, shorten rambles, and adapt to how you think. And it’s just getting better—learning from edits, respecting privacy, and working quietly behind the scenes across your entire workflow.

So yes, we’re proud of what this recognition reflects: our ambition to bring beautifully designed voice tools to every corner of the world, for every kind of user.
