Write the way you naturally do, everywhere you write.

When you switch between apps every day (Gmail, Slack, iMessage, Notion, and more) even small formatting details can break your rhythm. A text that looks overly formal or an email that has less formal punctuation can feel slightly off.

Until now, Flow automatically formatted your transcriptions differently depending on the app: adding punctuation for emails, using lighter formatting for chat messages, and simplifying things for texting. It was helpful, but it didn’t always reflect your preferences.

Now with Personalized Style, you decide how Flow handles those small but meaningful capitalization and spacing details in each app category.

How it Works:

Once you open Flow on Desktop, navigate to Style on the lefthand navigation.

From here you’ll be able to choose your preferred formatting for each category of app:

  • Personal messaging apps (iMessage, WhatsApp, Telegram)
  • Work messaging apps (Slack, Teams)
  • Email apps (Gmail, Outlook, Superhuman)
  • Other apps (Docs, Notes, ChatGPT, etc.)

You’ll see visual examples that preview how your writing appears in each style option. Depending on the app category, you’ll be able to choose from Formal, Casual, Excited, or Very Casual.

Flow will automatically apply your selected formatting whenever you dictate, so you don’t need to adjust capitalization or punctuation manually again.

(Currently available on Desktop in English; coming soon to iPhone.)

Very Casual
No caps + less punctuation
Casual
Caps + less punctuation
Excited
Caps + more exclamation points
Formal
Caps + more periods

FAQ

Does Wispr Flow rewrite tone or grammar?

No. Personalized Style only adjusts capitalization, punctuation, and spacing. Flow doesn’t change your grammar, word choice, or phrasing. It simply formats them to match your preferences.

How is this different from old behavior?

Previously, Flow automatically chose formatting styles for each app type. Now, you can customize those formatting rules yourself.

Is Personalized Style available on iPhone?

It’s available on Desktop only, coming to iPhone soon. In the interim, there’s a simpler version called Casual tone while messaging under Settings → Personalization.
