Try Flow on Android. You’ll never type again.

The full Flow experience is now on Android

For two years, people asked us one question: When is Flow coming to Android?

Our answer was simple. We were not going to ship Flow on Android until it was genuinely unmatched.

Android is how most of the world communicates. Nearly 4 billion people use it every day.Hundreds of thousands of people joined our waitlist waiting for this moment.

Today we launched the version we believe those 4 billion people deserve. And it is the first time voice on Android feels like a primary interface, not a fallback feature.

The breakthrough: voice that actually replaces typing

For years, voice input has existed, but almost nobody uses it as their default. Because it was slow. It got things wrong. It needed continuous editing, breaking your flow.

Flow for Android changes that. It floats perfectly above every app you use. No keyboard switching or toggling modes. No rewriting things to sound like you.

If you can speak, you can now out-type your keyboard.

Android finally gave us the freedom to build the voice experience we always wanted. Only when the platform gets out of the way can we truly expect voice to replace typing on mobile.

We already see this with Flow users on their desktop. After six months, most Flow users type less than one third of their text manually. Voice is the default. We finally displaced the 150 year old keyboard.

Obsessively making voice better

If there’s one thing we care about more than launches, it’s latency. With millions of users, every millisecond means a lot of wasted time waiting. In parallel with the Android launch, we’ve just complete a significant infrastructure rewrite that makes Flow 30% faster for all users.

Speed is one thing, accuracy is another. It’s this obsession over the quality of our core product that explains why we’re 3x more accurate than other voice models; even a 1% error rate is 100x too high.

Built for how the world actually works

In many countries, Android is the internet. This forced us to build globally, by default.

Flow on Android is designed for people who:

  • Work across multiple languages
  • Live inside messaging apps
  • Move between work and life constantly
  • Need tools that adapt to how they actually speak

And a first: Flow now supports Hinglish:

Another Easter egg: we just released a model that supports Hinglish. If you’re someone like me, English and Hindi weave together when I’m chatting with family and colleagues back home. This is one of those times when I just had to build something for me: the first voice model to actually support transcription in Hinglish instead of traditional Hindi script.

One intelligent system. Every device

We did not build a “mobile version” of Flow. Flow is now a system that works everywhere: Android, iPhone, Mac and Windows.

  • The same lightening fast dictation
  • Smart edits and formatting
  • Support for 100+ languages

Your way of working should not reset every time you switch devices.
