Get the details right.

From uncommon names to industry jargon, Wispr's notetaking AI uses your dictionary and calendar to help capture the details that matter in your meeting transcript and summary.

Stop digging. Just ask.

Notetaker's AI searches across your prior meeting notes and the web for the answer, then links you to the source.

Zoned out? Catch up in seconds.

No more "sorry, can you repeat that?" Tap "What did I miss?" and Notetaker gives you a summary of the last few minutes. You're caught up before anyone notices.

Get a summary you’ll actually read.

Our AI notetaker pulls out timelines, decisions, and next steps, then organizes everything by topic so you can find what matters.

AI tools.

Bring your meeting history into Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or any tool that supports MCP. Put your meeting notes to work alongside your docs and projects. No copy-paste required.

FAQs

You might be wondering.

Questions

How accurate are Wispr Notetaker's AI transcripts?
Answer:

Wispr Notetaker is built to spell names, jargon, and product terms correctly. Most AI notetakers transcribe your conversation cold. Notetaker starts with your context: the people on your calendar and the names and jargon in your personal dictionary.

That means names like "Aditya" are spelled correctly and product names stay intact. After the meeting, the tool reviews every transcript to catch mistakes. Notetaker was built by the team behind Wispr Flow dictation, where getting words right is the whole job.

The best way to see the difference is to record one meeting with Notetaker alongside your current tool and compare the transcripts.

How does Wispr Notetaker identify who said what in a meeting?
Answer:

Notetaker identifies speakers using your calendar invite, personal dictionary, and conversational context, like when someone says "thanks, Priya."

During the meeting, the live transcript separates you from other speakers. After the meeting ends, the polished transcript adds full name labels.

Speaker labels are most accurate on video calls where each person joins from their own device. In shared conference rooms, Notetaker uses conversation context to identify people when they're mentioned.

If a speaker is ever unlabeled or mislabeled, assign the name once and apply it across the entire transcript.

What apps and tools does Notetaker work with?
Answer:

If your computer can play it, Notetaker can capture it. Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, Slack huddles, Discord, or a call in your browser, with no integrations to set up and no bot to invite.

Do I need to get user consent?
Answer:

Always let participants know before recording or transcribing a conversation, whether it’s a video call, in-person meeting, or phone call.

Notetaker captures audio locally on your device rather than joining calls as a visible bot, so participants may not receive an automatic notification that transcription is taking place. You are responsible for informing everyone before you begin.

Recording and consent laws vary by state and country. If you’re unsure what rules apply, seek legal advice.

Can I use my meeting notes in Claude, ChatGPT, or other AI tools?
Answer:

Yes. Connect Notetaker to AI tools like Claude and ChatGPT through MCP. Your meeting history becomes searchable context for your AI, so you can ask questions across past conversations ("what did we decide about pricing last month?"), draft follow-ups from what was actually said, and send action items to your other tools.

Your accurate meeting notes become context your AI can actually use.

For more information, see our guide Connecting Notetaker to your AI Tools.

Does Wispr Notetaker work for in-person meetings?
Answer:

Yes. Wispr Notetaker works as an AI notetaker for in-person meetings. It records from your computer's microphone, so it works in conference rooms, coffee chats, interviews, and anywhere else you meet face to face. For the most accurate speaker labels, put the meeting on your calendar with attendees on the invite and set your laptop in the middle of the table.

For setup tips, read our guide to using an AI notetaker for in-person meetings.

Can I record meetings that aren't on my calendar?
Answer:

Yes!

If a meeting is not on your calendar, Notetaker will detect that you are in a call and ask if you want to start taking notes. This works on Meet, Zoom, Teams, and even WhatsApp or Facetime.

Why is Wispr Flow better than Granola and other AI note-taking tools?
Answer:

Wispr Notetaker gets the details right that other AI notetakers get wrong: who said what, spelled correctly, on every platform you meet on. It even catches its own mistakes after the call, and preps you before it important conversations start.

Here's what sets it apart from Granola and other AI notetakers:

  • Speakers named on every platform. Unlike Granola, Wispr Notetaker labels speakers by name in the final transcript whether the meeting was on Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, a Slack huddle. Granola names speakers only on Google Meet and in Zoom's Mac app, and shows "Me" and "Them" everywhere else.
  • Evolving contextual understanding without the manual setup. Notetaker reads the attendees on your calendar invite, your personal dictionary, and connected tools like Gmail and Slack, so uncommon names and company terms come out spelled correctly. In Granola, company terms have to be typed into a settings box by hand. If there’s anyone Notetaker can't identify, you name once and the label applies across the whole transcript.
  • A second pass on every transcript. After the meeting, another AI model runs through the recording again and fixes mistakes before your summary is written. In comparison to Wispr Notetaker, Granola's re-enhance rewrites the notes from the same transcript, so a name it misheard stays misheard.
  • Full AI tool access on the free plan. On Wispr Flow's free plan, you can pull your transcripts, summaries, and notes into Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini. Granola's free plan limits that to your personal notes from the last 30 days and locks older meeting history until you upgrade.
  • No bot in your meetings. Notetaker records on your computer, so nothing joins the call.
  • Catch up and look things up mid-call. If your attention drifts, Notetaker recaps the last few minutes so you can jump right back into the conversation. You can also pull answers from earlier meetings, each one linked back to where it came from.
  • Dictation included. The same subscription includes Wispr Flow Dictation for writing emails, messages, and documents by speaking.

Switching is simple: import your Granola or Otter history into Notetaker in a few steps. For the full side-by-side breakdown, read Wispr Notetaker vs Granola.

I'm coming from Granola, Otter, or Fathom. Do I lose my history?
Answer:

No. If you're using Granola or Otter, you can import your notes into Wispr Notetaker in a few steps. For other tools, you can connect your existing notes alongside Notetaker through Claude and MCP, keeping everything searchable in one place while your new meeting history builds. Our switching guide walks you through the process step by step.

Is my data private? What happens to the audio after a meeting ends?
Answer:

Your meetings are yours.

Meeting audio is encrypted and stored only temporarily on your device and, in some cases, in secure cloud storage. This allows Notetaker to do what you ask: create transcripts, let you resume meetings, improve and verify transcription quality, and troubleshoot issues when needed. After that limited period, audio is automatically deleted.

Notetaker does not create voiceprints or biometric profiles of you or anyone on your calls. Your content is never sold and is never used to train AI models without your consent. You can delete any meeting, transcript, or note at any time.

For more information, view our Privacy Policy.

Is Notetaker free? Can my team use it?
Answer:

Notetaker is included with Wispr Flow, and Flow's free plan is free forever. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited use, and Flow for Teams covers your whole company under one plan.

What languages can I use Notetaker in?
Answer:

Notetaker transcription supports 21 languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Russian, Polish, Swedish, Danish, Czech, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Urdu, Arabic, and Turkish.

More languages are coming soon. You're welcome to try it on meetings in other languages, but expect mixed results until dedicated support arrives.

Answer:

Notetaker runs on Mac and Windows. Mobile is on the roadmap.
